just wanted to give you guys a little update on my progress for the competition (you can read more about it below if you're unfamiliar). I've finished my main model for the scene which is that minivan I spoke of. I've spent a lot of time working on the textures for it in photoshop as well, and though they're not the best I think they are a fairly close representation of the real model from the game. Next I just completed another vehicle yesterday that I worked on all weekend, which will be driven by an opposing enemy. Our hero (in the van), will be shooting at this opposing enemy in his vehicle. So this second vehicle is completely modeled and I've done some texturing and pelt mapping for it as well in photoshop.
Last thing I was working on was the terrain. I've modeled a simple terrain in Vue and have imported it over to 3Ds Max for texturing and rendering. The texturing has gone ok, and I like how that part is looking. The rendering however!! I swear Max is great for modeling, but when it comes time to render, especially an outdoor scene, it's not the easiest program to work with.
So i'll be finishing up my models that are almost done and textured, and will need to setup the scene for the battle and struggle more with the rendering lol. I have a couple of effects I'm going to try and fit into the scene to add more of a dynamic and animated (although not really animated) scene.
As for my second piece..I was planning on working with the A.F. model as I spoke of before (below), but I also have a couple other ideas that I could start on from scratch. We'll see how much time permits me and that might wave my decision.
Stay Tuned!
Well
Within my scraps gallery you'll find a couple of pieces including this deviation [link]
of a minivan. There's the state of it this morning, been working on it all day though and got pretty far. Yes it will be fantasy related. How you ask???? Game fantasy! It's hush hush though until the opening, only my collaborative partner in ideas shall know what the result of it shall be (he knows whom he is
The next idea is to finish up the A.F. model. Her progress so far can be seen here [link]
a head shot and a body shot. That's where she sits as of now, still lots of work to do on that. Gotta make her pose, clothes, a weapon of some sort, and the entire scene that she'll be posed in.
So I'm hoping to get the game fantasy one done first, and then the A.F. model thing done second. That way I finish these blasted things I barely got started and have something to enter into the competition all at the same time. Makes sense to me!
