Ok it's done,
this version atleast. I could always try to texture the halo edition, any requests?
Some details:
I first want to thank for showing me a very cool technique in edge sub-object mode. It's helped me speed up my modelling process a bit and I really appreciate the help. Thanks Kheng!
I also want to thank for helping me with texturing the surface plane.
The box/console part was giving me troubles, so I've downplayed some of the details I had originally hoped for. Just how these things go sometimes when your learning I guess. I am very happy with the controllers though. Pretty much every detail came out to scale, or my own version of it that I can be happy with.
So I'm very proud of this piece, I think I've learned a great deal in the process. I do however know I've got a ton to learn, so any suggestions/comments/critiques are more than welcome as usual and especially for this piece.
Lastly I'll probably end up making a wallpaper for this as I've done for other 3D pieces. If anyone is interested in a wallpaper just make a note of it and I can try to make that process go faster.
yes, yes, and Photoshop was only used for creating text/logos. A controller?..nice! Best of luck, let me know how it goes I'd be interested in seeing the end results. What's your plan for modeling?
What do you recommend? A controller has a lot of curves to worry about. =\
And Mental Ray for materials?
Was Photoshop used at all?
Im just asking this because I am going to be making a controller lol

also, the hd drive looks a little embossed, it should have a more smoother/linear feel to it.
also the cd tray and eject button are connected, and also metalic.
all in all good job.
