But now comes all the critics...
No, its really a good work and I myself badly suck on drawing human faces, but I critisize now anyways, lol.
As far as I can tell the drawing wasn't made in the biggest size I guess. So that woud epxlain a bit the "lack of details". OMG that sounds way harsher than I mean it...
Just realize that you told me there is a bigger version of this...
Hair looks good, a bit like wet, and nice with the darker lines in it. The few hairs on the forehead are great, maybe some around the head would had been good. The whole hair looks a bit "solid". The left side of the head/hair looks a lil flat. I haven't cross-checked it with the real Cristina, but the face seems a bit too round and full...no cheek bone. Heck, I do this all without dictionary so I hope you get what I mean, lol.
The mouth looks good, tho not much contours of the lips...without the red there would no lips. Nose...well, its really always the hardest part, right? Not bad, but seems a bit too small around the nose-holes. The eyes...the right one is awesome! As well the sourounding area with the hairs and all! The left is nice, but it looks a bit like she is squinting.
Hands...that arent's really gloves, right? The white one looks more like a bandage. Could have more folds. I know its hard on black. They look thicker around the fingers than at the palm and thumb...mean make the hand look thicker there.
Thumbs are okay, but you should have made the outline of the left thumb(her right) darker...I think. Maybe you prefer it this way.
Fingers...sorry, worst part. Ugh, that sounds so mean. I miss on all hands some wrinkles, lines and the shape of the fingers seems a bit too...uhm symmetrical. Argh, maybe I really should dig for the bigger sized pic. I'm crawling into my flatscreen and look real close on her left hand...seems like you did a bit of details on each limb of each fingers...
Okay, I dunno if you did that by using a photo of her or if its all done by you and what you was imaging in your mind (think so). I'd suggest that you look while drawing a hand always at your own hand and hold it the way you want to draw it. Could be helpfull, since the hand is probably the most complex human body part to draw.
Oh, almost forgot the light effect on the right. Very cool, especially with the reflection on the hand!
Btw was it inspired by Edvard Munch?
